Plant the Seeds of Good Change pt. 3

Meet: Denisha B, Outreach

Core Volunteer Series

It makes sense to celebrate Denisha for part three of our core volunteer series. She's been with @Mborogarden since the beginning - way back in 2014. You can read Autumn's recollection in part one.

You might see her turning compost, and she's excellent with networking. We had a blast checking out other booths at Rutherford County's Earth Day Celebration 2022!

As an IT professional, Denisha works on the back end to keep things organized for us. In addition, she leads our outreach efforts, and we are so happy she is with us.

Steadfast in her commitment to the community garden, you might see her at our booth during a community event. She also leads Saturdays in rotation. Peek at our interview below:

Q: How did you find @Mborogarden?

A: "I joined in 2014. I found the group on Facebook."

Q: What brought you to community gardening?

A: "I became a gardener because I was interested in learning about growing food, and I love being outside."

Q: What do you love most about it?

A: "I love the journey of watching the plants grow and seeing how the garden is improving each year."

Q: What do you find most interesting about community gardening?

A: "I am most interested in the fruits and veggies we grow and how many variations there are available outside of what we see in grocery stores."

Q: Anything else you’d like to mention?

A: "Come visit us on a Saturday!"
